Web Browsers
If you click the Internet Banking button on the WBS website and something seems to happen for a brief period but then you remain on the same page it could be that your web browser is set up to block pop-ups.

For security reasons WBS Internet Banking opens as a pop-up window. However, more recent web browsers and some third-party toolbars are set up to block pop-up windows.

The following is the process to set the WBS Internet Banking site as authorised to use pop-ups (for this example we use Microsoft Internet Explorer running on Windows XP):

1. On your web browser select the Tools menu option.
2. Select Pop-up Blocker from the drop-down menu.
3. Then select Pop-up Blocker Settings.
4. Type in the address for WBS Internet Banking:

https://onlinebanking.wbs.net.nz/

5. Click Add.
6. Click Close.

Your browser should now allow you to gain access to the WBS Internet Banking Login page via the WBS website.

Other web browsers (e.g. Firefox, Opera, Netscape etc.) have different ways to access and edit the pop-up settings. If you use one of these browsers you can see detailed instructions in the link provided in the following shaded section or you can use your browser's Help menu option and search in the help index for pop-up to find how to accept pop-ups and permission the WBS Internet Banking site for these. Failing this you can go to the website of your particular web browser to look for more information.

Third-Party Toolbars
If you have downloaded toolbars for your web browser (e.g Google Toolbar, Yahoo Toolbar, MSN Toolbar etc.) these often have their own pop-up blockers in addition to those that come in web browsers. Each of these will need to be permissioned to accept the WBS Internet Banking website for pop-ups in the same manner as described above.

The link in the following shaded section provides more detailed help when dealing with toolbars. Alternatively you can hold your mouse pointer over each icon on your toolbar(s) to find out which one is the pop-up blocker and then right-click on it to get a menu of options in relation to how to use it. Failing this, check the web site for the toolbar(s) you have (e.g. Google, Yahoo, MSN etc.) to find out more about altering the toolbar settings in order to allow the Internet Banking pop-up from the WBS web site.
