Congratulations to the Farriers Dalefield P1 Men on an exceptional season and a well-deserved Wellington Hockey Championship title.

The championship was secured with a 3-1 victory over Indians in the final, marking the culmination of a remarkable campaign that saw the team play 18 matches, winning 15, drawing two and losing just one.

As a proud sponsor of Dalefield Hockey Club, WBS is delighted to congratulate the players, coaches, management, volunteers and supporters on their achievement.

The team’s success extended well beyond the championship title. During the season they retained both the Nielsen Shield and Schaefer Cup, while also winning the InterCity Trophy and Miskimmin Challenge Shield.

Dalefield Hockey Club representative Mike van Woerkom said the achievement reflected months of commitment from everyone involved.

‘It takes a lot of commitment, starting way back in February. More than 50 trainings, many kilometres of travel and a long, arduous season all contributed to this achievement.’

As one of the Wairarapa’s leading hockey clubs, Dalefield continues to compete strongly on the Wellington hockey stage. The club’s Premier Women’s team also enjoyed an impressive season, finishing runners-up in their championship final.

Through partnerships with local sporting organisations such as Dalefield Hockey Club, WBS helps support community participation, sporting excellence and opportunities for Wairarapa athletes to compete at the highest level.
