WBS supports the Wairarapa Balloon Festival 2023

Look up … as Easter weekend promises to be extra magical this year with the return of the beloved Wairarapa Balloon Festival for 2023. For five spectacular days, Wairarapa’s wide open skies will be decorated with the enchanting beauty of hot air balloons, with up to 20 balloonists expected – including international pilots and balloons, the largest number to date.

WBS is delighted to support this festival again with sponsorship of two major events in the programme – the WBS Meander over Martinborough on Saturday 8 April and the WBS Park to Paddock over Greytown on Sunday 9 April.

This year all four Wairarapa towns will host ascensions of the balloons, each beginning at 6:30am, with the fifth day being a final flight from a mystery location. This is a truly wonderful opportunity for the whole family to get up close to balloon crews and enjoy real life action of a lift off. The highlight of the action-packed five-day programme is without a doubt the renowned Night Glow spectacular which will take place at Clareville Showgrounds on the evening of Saturday 8 April. This family-friendly event is set to be bigger and brighter than ever before, include drone racing, balloon walk-throughs, model plane displays, live music, Wairarapa’s largest contingent of street food vendors and a huge Easter egg hunt for the kids. Amongst the fun, anticipation will build as dark descends, when the balloons are showcased, spectacularly lit up in synchronisation to music. Tickets to the Wairarapa Balloon Night Glow 2023 can be purchased here.

WBS is honoured to be supporting this unique and much-loved festival, a special event the whole region can enjoy and be part of.
